Review | Thunder Burger

Are you from L.A.? Have you participated in the great debate over In N Out Burger vs. Fat Burger? Been craving such a burger in Corea? Well keep searching. Sorry to get your hopes up but there are only a few “good” burger places in Seoul City, Corea. Thunder Burger barely makes the list BUT, if you’re feeling for a traditional burger, this is the place to be. Located nearby Sinsa Station, you can find the basic patty, lettuce, onions and buns burger here. No ketchup, mayo or mustard. Straight from the grill type of burger. I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw it, I thought I was going into a Fat Burger. Reminded me of it very much, and you’ll see why in my video. What? You only speak English? No problem, the guy that looks like he’s pissed off speaks English. Well, he looks mad for a good reason, I guess I’ve been so used to taking pictures and video of places without asking that, it’s just become the norm. He asked me to blur out his face. Don’t worry, he’s not much of a looker~ But man can he grill! I wanted to tell him the burger was delicious but bad vibes~ In any case, burgers are made like you would see at Fat Burger, not sure of the reference? Watch the video~ By the way, the reason I brought up the great debate was because, I had the “Double Double” which we all know is an In N Out Burger~ hence the reference. Moving on, you got your buttered toasted buns, fresh produce & a beef patty. In my case, two patties. Now, you normally don’t look at the meat but check it out sometime. It’s always fun to see the different textures at a variety of burger joints. This patty, seriously tasted like a patty. It even looked like a patty. And I know some of you are thinking Wendy’s double stack? Well it sort of tastes the way the double stack looks. Easy to chew, kind of that mushy feeling? Yea, BUT it tasted very organic. Like real meat meat. Do you get what I’m saying? It’s like a patty but still very beefy. I mean, it’s no In N Out or Fat Burger but you know, if you were looking for a nice traditional burger, you definitely want to try this place out. It’s kind of cute~ I felt a little bit of America when stepping inside. Also the fries! Oh my goodness, if they only learned to cook it fully they would’ve had the most bomb fries ever! I mean, take a look at the photos! Imagine if the fresh fries of In N Out were to mate with the steak fries from Steak N Shake (Also known as Steak Escape in some states). Free refills!

(I gotta point out that in Corea, you only get like 4 choices. Fanta Orange, Coca Cola, Coke Zero, and Sprite or the Corean equivalent, Chilsung Cider. A sweeter Sprite. Coca Cola actually released DK as a soft drink in Corea which is a rebranded Sprite.)

Did a small shoot in there, got some great photos too. I’ll have to post up some of my work. If you didn’t know by now, I work as a fashion photographer for a little company called Minikoya. I plugged them a couple months back and now I’m working there. Cool beans right? And that’s another reason as to why I can post up food reviews again! Word.  Now here’s a little tip for you Fat Burger lovers out there. If you come to Corea, so to KRAZE Burger, it’s a GRIP! But, if you want that fried egg and the flexibility for your own toppings. That’s the place to go. As a matter of fact, I would compare those two very similar! I’ll post up reviews about that one of these days. As for Thunder Burger, they get a rating of 2.9 Stars. Food was good, but I don’t like bad vibes when I’m eating. But to be fair, on a normal day they would’ve gotten a 3.2 Star rating. Good eats, GET ON IT!

Video will be posted later.
