Because countries love Hip Hop more than we do here in America, they have awesome festivals like “Street Day” in France! Nah, I’m just playing but doesn’t seem like real hip hop is embraced better in outside countries more than in the country it started it in? And I love how some countries keep it pure with the 4 elements and stick together like a family you know? Don’t get me started on a rant here~ Anyway, Street Day is a street festival in Lyon, France featuring Skateboarding, BMX Bikes, Bboying, Graffiti, etc. Check out www.LOriginal-Festival.com for more info. You know what time it is~ Summer is JUST around the corner and R-16, one of our beloved international bboy battles is going down in July! Heard Tiger JK of Drunken Tiger is coming out too! So mark you calendars and fly out to Seoul, Corea! A two day international bboy battle you do not want to miss out on! July 2nd – July 3rd. Want to stick around for the whole R-16 World Bboy Championship & Urban Arts Festival? You better stay a week or two at least! Get in on the action! “The concept of RESPECT is the everlasting theme of this massive 5 day event as over 300 artists, musicians, grassroots content creators, promoters, producers, urban enthusiasts, hip hop heads and bboys from around the world convene in Korea, in an attempt to provide the proper inspiration needed to push the movement forward. What started out as a World Championships level bboy tournament has now evolved into a massive annual festival that seeks to encompass all aspects of Urban Youth Cultures and the Urban Arts. The festival draws visitors and spectators not only from Korea but form all the different regions of Asia and the world.

The R-16 World Bboy Championships & Urban Arts Festival was created in 2007 as a grand experiment to see if through the support of the government and a nation as a whole, youth created grassroots cultures like Hip Hop and Bboying can become a profitable and self sustaining industry that can embed itself within society and culture and maintain relevance in the minds of the mainstream and mass media here in Korea and the rest of the World. Through the generous support of the Korea Tourism Organization, and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a World Class festival and World Bboy Championships has been designed to celebrate and demonstrate the power of youth and the positive possibilities a gathering of this nature can create. We can show through this event and our through our dedication and passion, that while the rest of the world is embroiled in conflicts caused by prejudice and an inability to overcome their differences, we have come to settle our differences, unite ourselves and DANCE.”

Who doesn’t like festivals? It great fun for the family and everyone else! Mission Bicycle Company is throwing a festival(details below)! Thats right ya’ll we are doing Freestyle Session preliminaries this year inside of Rock the Bells Hip Hop Festival. We will have our own area at both events and the finals will most likely be on the main stage in front of the 20,000-30,000 fans that will be in attendance at this festival. Get ready this one is gonna be crazy!

To Enter in either event please shoot me an email iamcros1-at-aol.com or just post your crew and which one you wish to enter below. All entrants must pay to get into the festival. I will be working on trying to get a discounted rate but just in case your gonna want to get your tickets right when they go on sale soon the sooner you get your ticket the cheaper it will be.

Seoul World DJ Festival 2010!

What’s good world!? Seoul, Corea has some dope events lined up this year~ Not only is R16 one of the biggest and major battles in the world, but there’s also a world DJ festival happening right here in Seoul in May. Now honestly I didn’t even know about this festival until my friend Mera send me the info this morning. But you can check out the info on their website! It looks like a good line up of some old school like Fantastic Plastic Machine to new school House Rulez if you like electronic music. They’ll also have DJ for rock and hip-hop. This is their 4th annual event so go check it out! I’ll be there with my crew as well~ The event starts at 14:00(2PM) on the 8th of May(Sat) and lasts until 06:00(6AM) on the 9th of May(Sun). Located over at Han River Park Nanji Area, tickets are around $25 if you get it by the 20th of March. Then around $33 until the 5th of April then, around $44 til the 20th of April. Regular admission is $55 so get your tickets soon!
