Review | Yum Thai
Headed over to Yum Thai after Adam (Cholosaurus | FRESH TRIBE) told me about this really good Thai place. And me always on the look out for good food, I HAD to go and try it out. So I headed out on my bike and rode over to Sinsa, the subway station after Apgujeong Station. Well one, I got lost~ I had mistaken a cafe for another cafe in Apgujeong. I had gone past and I was now over at Yeoksam. So heading back towards Sinsa was ridiculous. Got clipped by a truck and riding on the highway is HIGHLY advised against! But I was short on time and since there isn’t a law against highways why not? Just kidding, there’s probably a law…. I hope. Hey if scooters and cars ride on sidewalks why not right? Anyway, made my way over to Sinsa finally and found my friends waiting for me. I was an hour late -_-;; But we went in and finally ordered. The atmosphere is straight, dark inside but it’s very small. The great thing about this place is that the staff are all Thai! So that got my hopes up. And I’m not gonna lie, the food was really good. Anyway, there’s about 8 tables? So about 32 people could fit inside. So yea, it’s pretty small. It’s very chill though, they play reggae non-stop which I thought was a little odd at a Thai restaurant. [Edit, Bon Jovi was in the mix and apparently there are days when they just play Thai music too]I ordered the Thai Beef Noodle Soup which was pretty much Pho. Adam had the Mixed Seafood w/ Curry Powder and Crystal had the Sweet & Sour Chicken. All three were good, but definitely try the Mixed Seafood w/ Curry Powder. It’s really good, it also has egg in the sauce mixed in. They also have a spicy version of this dish as well. The Thai Beef Noodle Soup was also good, there’s a slight spice to it too, no cilantro though. :(
And the Sweet & Sour Chicken, well that’s pretty much the same anywhere you go~ But the food here is legit so GET ON IT!
Rating: 3.27
Located out of Exit 1 of Sinsa Station. Walk straight 300 Meters and it’s on your right~ Can’t miss it!
